Troop 181 has been active on the Main Line since 1921.  In addition to teaching Scout skills, our monthly campout activities include backpacking, biking, canoeing, rock climbing or whitewater rafting, in addition to Council events. We also have a week-long summer camp at Resica Falls or another local Scout facility.


To join our troop, you must be:

 at least 10 years old, currently in the fifth grade, and register on or after March 1

or

at least 10 years old and have earned the Arrow of Light Award

or

at least 11 years old (but not yet 18)

Battleship NJ Overnight, Saturday, December 14th

Registration is closed.
 
The cost is $85/person (adults & children)
On Saturday, December 14th, boarding begins at 5:00pm and concludes at 6:30PM.  If you arrive earlier than 5:00pm, you may visit our Visitor Center and our Ship’s Store, which is in our Visitor’s Center. Everyone must be off the Ship by noon the following day. Dinner and a tour will be provided.
 
Parking will be in the Parking Garage located at 10 Delaware Ave., Camden, NJ.  The garage closes promptly at 7:00pm and will reopen at 7:00am the next morning.  If for some reason, you are going to be arriving later than 7:00pm, you need to contact the Overnight Encampment emergency number 609-868-4166 ASAP, so we can make alternate arrangements 

There will be shuttle service Saturday night and Sunday morning, to take you back and forth from the parking garage and the Ship.  If your vehicle is over the maximum height requirements of the garage at 10 Delaware Ave., (6’ 7”) you will need to park at 100 Clinton Street instead of the parking garage. Also, if you are driving a “dually” you cannot park in the parking garage, and you must park the vehicle on Clinton Street.  Clinton Street is on the Ship’s property and is a short walk.

I received questions about their scout who is actively working to complete the Scout rank are having trouble completing requirement #6 - With your parent or guardian, complete the exercises in the pamphlet How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide and earn the Cyber Chip Award for your grade. 

BSA Annual Health and Medical Record

Updated Registration Requirements for Adults on Camping Trips

Effective September 1, 2023, all adults staying overnight in connection with a Scouting activity must be currently registered as an adult volunteer (troop leader).  Adult volunteers must register in the position(s) they are serving in.  Registration as a merit badge counselor position does not meet this requirement. 

Use Calendar Sync Function to Stay Connected!

Easily stay connected to the Troop 181 website calendar and get automatic updates. Simply log into the Troop 181 website. On the left hand side  "User" menu click "Calendar Sync". Next - under Calendar Type choose your particular calendar application from the drop down and then click "Create Calendar Feed" at the bottom of the page. Final step - click the iCalendar Feed link and you're done! Simple and easy to do. You're now synced!
